Welcome
It is my great privilege to welcome you to Haydon School.
For more than 50 years, Haydon has been at the heart of our community, providing an ambitious education for young people in the local area. Our history is one of growth, achievement and opportunity, and our future is shaped by our vision that every young person has the capacity to achieve individual excellence within a caring community.
Haydon is a special place with an exceptionally broad and rich curriculum that stretches every student to help them reach their full potential. We are ambitious for every student, recognising that excellence looks different for each individual. We want our young people to discover their strengths, develop their talents and leave us with the knowledge, confidence, character and resilience to thrive in the wider world.
We believe that a great education should open doors, broaden horizons and inspire curiosity, enabling students to discover interests and passions. Excellence in the classroom stands central to our principles and our thriving sixth form speaks to the confidence students and parents have in their seven year journey at Haydon School. At the end of Year 13, our students go on to some of the best universities in the country and internationally, with an impressive number also taking on highly sought after graduate apprenticeships.
Education at Haydon extends beyond the classroom. Our extensive programme of extracurricular activities gives students opportunities to develop new skills, pursue their interests and work collaboratively with others. From sport, music and the performing arts to clubs, competitions and enrichment activities, there is something for everyone. Our trips allow students to experience new places and cultures, while our whole-school productions and events bring our community together and provide wonderful opportunities for students to shine.
Our dedicated staff share a deep commitment to our students and to the values of the school. Together with parents and carers, we work in partnership to ensure that every young person can flourish academically, personally and socially.
Haydon School is a place of opportunity, aspiration and belonging. It is a school proud of its history, excited about its future and determined to make a positive difference to the lives of the young people we serve.
I hope that this website gives you a sense of the vibrant and ambitious community we have here at Haydon.
